Joan’s personal side

Why did you choose to become a Nurse Practitioner?

I have always been drawn to helping others for as long as I can remember. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I feel that it enables me to spend quality time with my patients and get to know them on a personal level. As an FNP, I enjoy that I not only help sick people feel better, but I help empower them to be in charge of their own health and wellness.

Why did you choose to become an FNP provider?

Family Practice is a perfect fit for me as a provider because I truly enjoy the wide variety of patients and situations that I encounter. Every day is different and exciting in its’ own way. I love the fact that I can see patients of all ages and help them not only feel better, but lead healthier lives.

What do you like to do with your free time outside of the clinic?

As a mom to three boys, most of my free time involves running to and from sports and school activities and lots of grocery shopping. I am an avid sports fan and closely follow the Mizzou Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. I also enjoy running, bicycling and spending time with friends and family.
